I was a teacher and youth worker for 15 years, wanting to help young people get a great start in life. I started writing classroom lessons when I was 23 years old, authoring 6 books that were published for high schools. I took a role with the charity, SGM Lifewords, writing resources and working in developing countries as we train those who care for people in slum communities and children at risk.

I signed on to study Psychology at Charles Sturt University, changing over to finish a Counselling Degree in 2010. I practice Positive Psychology and take a solution-focused approach to therapy. Young people and men in particular like the practical steps and focus on “where I want to be”.

I spent two years in a counselling internship with Southern Community Welfare and have set up a professional counselling and coaching studio in Eton Arcade, Sutherland. In 2016, we launched the school-based Young & Confident strength finder program for teenagers, helping young people to discover what is right with them. For teenagers, this brings a positive approach to self-perception,  mental health, self esteem and identity.

I am married to Jools and together we have two little boys, Tom and Will. Perhaps most famous in our family is our dog, Nelson, who is known in the Sutherland Shire as the Red Dog of Como. Woof.
